چکیده

Contemporary applications in computational science and engineering often require the solution of linear systems which may be different sizes, shapes, structures. The goal this paper is to explain how two libraries, PETSc HPDDM, have been interfaced order offer end-users robust overlapping Schwarz preconditioners advanced Krylov methods featuring recycling ability deal with multiple right-hand sides. flexibility implementation showcased explained minimalist, easy-to-run, reproducible examples, ease integration these algorithms into more frameworks. examples provided cover from eigenanalysis, elasticity, combustion, electromagnetism.

Robust Multilevel Restricted Schwarz Preconditioners and Applications

We introduce a multi-level restricted Schwarz preconditioner with a special coarse-to-fine interpolation and show numerically that the new preconditioner works extremely well for some difficult large systems of linear equations arising from some optimization problems constrained by the incompressible Navier-Stokes equations. Performance of the preconditioner is reported for parameters including...

Total Overlapping Schwarz’ Preconditioners for Elliptic Problems

A variant of the Total Overlapping Schwarz (TOS) method has been introduced in [Ben Belgacem et al., C. R. Acad. Sci., Sér. 1 Math. 336 (2003) 277–282] as an iterative algorithm to approximate the absorbing boundary condition, in unbounded domains. That same method turns to be an efficient tool to make numerical zooms in regions of a particular interest. The TOS method enjoys, then, the ability...

Extending PSBLAS to Build Parallel Schwarz Preconditioners

We describe some extensions to Parallel Sparse BLAS (PSBLAS), a library of routines providing basic Linear Algebra operations needed to build iterative sparse linear system solvers on distributed-memory parallel computers. We focus on the implementation of parallel Additive Schwarz preconditioners, widely used in the solution of linear systems arising from a variety of applications. We report a...

Multilevel Schwarz and Multigrid preconditioners for the Bidomain system

Two parallel and scalable multilevel preconditioners for the Bidomain system in computational electrocardiology are introduced and studied. The Bidomain system, consisting of two degenerate parabolic reaction-diffusion equations coupled with a stiff system of several ordinary differential equations, generates very ill-conditioned discrete systems when discretized with semi-implicit methods in t...

Multilevel Additive Schwarz Methods

We consider the solution of the algebraic system of equations which result from the dis-cretization of elliptic equations. A class of multilevel algorithms are studied using the additive Schwarz framework. We establish that, in the general case, the condition number of the iterative operator grows at most linearly with the number of levels. The bound is independent of the mesh sizes and the num...
